Graduate Programs

Many people today find that their careers have taken turns that give them the opportunity to work with or market to older adults. Because their original educational training may not have prepared them for working with an older population, people are turning to the University of Indianapolis Center for Aging & Community's graduate programs in aging studies, also called gerontology.

The Center offers two graduate-level programs, a Master of Science in Gerontology and a Graduate Certificate in Gerontology. The Center is positioned to meet the needs of traditional, nontraditional and postprofessional students interested in enhancing their education with its uniquely designed format of online and weekend courses. Offering a combination of core, concentration, skills and elective classes, the Center has an outstanding interdisciplinary faculty that provides optimal learning experiences in an environment of research and discovery.

Admission Requirements

  • Admission criteria for both programs include a completed bachelor's degree from an accredited university with a 3.0 undergraduate GPA.
